- ... that the relics of St Adelphus attracted so many pilgrims by the 12th century, that the Benedictines of Neuwiller-lès-Saverne Abbey had to build a secondary church nearby? "Édifice construit de 1190 à 1225 pour recevoir les reliques de saint Adelphe dixième évêque de Metz qui attiraient de très nombreux pèlerins depuis leur transfert à Neuwiller en 836." ([1]) "Suite à une série de miracles, un important pèlerinage se développa autour des reliques et, au 12e siècle, il apparut nécessaire de construire un nouvel édifice pour recevoir et préserver ainsi la vie monastique."
