Comments
[edit]Failure to have a complete deep link is usually down to two reasons:
- Incorrect citations - the case of users not wanting/being unable to acquire the full web address and thus posting to the site in general. This also covers those very new to those citing references, who may make significant errors.
- Partially dropped links - sometimes a full deep link is added, and at the time of editing the reference does link to the precise article. However, over time, links may become abandoned. Instead of becoming a
{{dead link}}
some can default to the front page of the domain. In these cases the specific articles may either be elsewhere on the original site or they may be archived.
