Syntax

[edit]

Table title, legend, and column-headers. The title includes "on [area of law]" if passed as the first parameter:

A criminal law case, to be displayed as a row in the table. Some named parameters can be used to specify certain details that affect formatting:

  • {{Criminal case law entry|case name|year|citation|state|doctrine|court's decision}}
  • {{Criminal case law entry|case name|year|citation|state|doctrine|court's decision|common=y}}
    If |common= is non-blank, the case deals with non-statutory or common law crimes, and the row is formatted differently.
  • {{Criminal case law entry|case name|year|citation|state|doctrine|court's decision|statute=y}}
    If |statute= is non-blank, the case deals with statutory crimes that are not Model Penal Code, and the row is formatted differently.
  • {{Criminal case law entry|case name|year|citation|state|doctrine|court's decision|MPC=y}}}}
    If |MPC= is non-blank, the case deals with crimes under the Model Penal Code and state penal codes based on the Model Penal Code, and the row is formatted differently.

Closes the table.
