Usage
[edit]uid
can be any of the following different types of MeSH identifiers:- One type is a traditional uid, which should be an 8 digit number. Example:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68011014
is Pneumonia. If you want to find this identifier for a certain item and your URL does not end in an 8-digit-number string, click on a different item in the categories tree on the page and then navigate back to your original page by clicking on it on the categories tree to arrive at a URL containing the proper string. Alternatively, in the "Related information" box on the right, click on "dbGaP Links" or "MedGen" and find the uid from the resulting URL. - Another is the MeSH Unique ID, which can be a "D" or "A" followed by six numbers. Example:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D011014
is also Pneumonia. This will be listed on the page. - The last common type is the Tree Number, which should start with a letter and be followed by multiple numbers with included decimal points. This will also be listed on the webpage. See List of MeSH codes to find a list. Example:
