Usage

This template can be used in place of {{cite encyclopedia}} to indicate that the Dictionary of Christian Biography and Literature to the End of the Sixth Century is being cited to support information in an article. The advantage is that it will fill in certain fields automatically.

The Dictionary of Christian Biography and Literature to the End of the Sixth Century (1911) is now in the public domain. Text from the DCBL is incorporated into an article then use the template {{DCBL}} to attribution the text in compliance with the Plagiarism guideline.

The template can be placed in different locations and depending on the what it is required the parameters can be mixed and matched:

This template is wrapper around {{cite encyclopedia}}. In its default mode it attributes text to an article from the third edition of the Dictionary of Christian Biography and Literature to the End of the Sixth Century.

This template automatically sets some of the parameters passed into {{cite encyclopedia}} for example "publisher = John Murray". Over and above the standard parameter passed into {{cite encyclopedia}} there are some additional parameters and those are listed below in a separate table from the table of parameters passed into {{cite encyclopedia}}.
