Template:Britmovie title/doc

This template is used to generate an external link to a film's web page at BritMovie (britmovie.co.uk).

Usage

Unnamed parameters:

• {{Britmovie title | ID }}
• {{Britmovie title | ID | TITLE }}

Named parameters:

• {{Britmovie title | id= ID }}
• {{Britmovie title | id= ID | title= TITLE }}

Instructions

1. Go to BritMovie and find the web page for the film. This can be done via searching for the title, via a list sorted alphabetically, or via a list sorted by year. Click on the correct link to go to that film's page. The URL should look like this:

   via search: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Movie-Name_YEAR

   via alpha list: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Movie-Name_YEAR/listType/alpha

   via year list: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Movie-Name_YEAR/listType/year

2. Copy only the portion after /films/ which is the movie title (with hyphens instead of spaces) following by an underscore and the year of release. Disregard any text after the year, such as /listType/alpha or /listType/year. Add one of the following to the External links section of the article:

   * {{Britmovie title | Movie-Name_YEAR }}

   * {{Britmovie title | Movie-Name_YEAR | TITLE }}

   * {{Britmovie title | id= Movie-Name_YEAR }}

   * {{Britmovie title | id= Movie-Name_YEAR | title= TITLE }}

   where Movie-Name_YEAR is the movie's unique ID string as copied from the URL

   and TITLE is the title of the film (this is optional, if not specified it defaults to the Wikipedia article name).

Example

1. For Doctor Syn (film), the BritMovie page URL is:

   via search: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Dr-Syn_1937

   via alpha list: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Dr-Syn_1937/listType/alpha

   via year list: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/films/Dr-Syn_1937/listType/year

2. Copy Dr-Syn_1937 and add it to this template, i.e.:

   {{Britmovie title | Dr-Syn_1937 | Doctor Syn }}

   or {{Britmovie title | id= Dr-Syn_1937 | title= Doctor Syn }}

3. This will display as:

   Doctor Syn at BritMovie (archived)
