ATC code A (Title) is a section of the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification System, a system of alphanumeric codes developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the classification of drugs and other medical products.[1][2][3][4]
Codes for veterinary use (ATCvet codes) can be created by placing the letter Q in front of the human ATC code: for example, QA.[5]
National issues of the ATC classification may include additional codes not present in this list, which follows the WHO version.

Usage
[edit]This template unifies the lead sections of the ATC code pages, such as ATC code A (first level pages) and ATC code A01 (second level pages).
{{ATC codes lead|<ATC level 1>|<ATC level 2>|<Name of subgroup>|vet=<no, add, only>}}
Examples:
{{ATC codes lead|A||Alimentary tract and metabolism}} <!-- 1st level pages: leave 2nd parameter empty --> {{ATC codes lead|A|01|Stomatological preparations}}
For pages with no corresponding ATCvet codes, include a parameter vet=no
:
{{ATC codes lead|J|07|Vaccines|vet=no}}
For pages containing additional ATCvet codes, include vet=add
:
{{ATC codes lead|N|05|Psycholeptics|vet=add}}
For pages containing exclusively ATCvet codes, include vet=only
:
{{ATC codes lead|D|51|Products for the treatment of claws and hoofs|vet=only}}
