Template:2015–16 Super League Greece Regular Season table/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:2015–16 Super League Greece Regular Season table. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
[edit]This is a template that was created to easily update every article with the 2015–16 Superleague Greece standings. The #Advanced section provides a bit of background.
The standings (order of teams) are controlled by the lines used for team position
|team1=OLY |team2=PAO |team3=PAOK ...
so to change positions, for example between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, you change OLY and PAO to
|team1=PAO |team2=OLY |team3=PAOK ...
To change the stats for the teams (for example Olympiacos stats) such as wins, draws, losses, goals scored and goals conceded, you edit the lines
|win_OLY=0 |draw_OLY=0 |loss_OLY=0 |gf_OLY=0 |ga_OLY=0
where gf and ga refer the goals for and against.
To use the update on any article, insert:

To highlight a team, e.g. Olympiacos, insert:

where the "showteam" row refers to the team you want to show
Advanced
[edit]The template is based on Module:Sports table that has been developed for making tables consistent and easy to update and is approved at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football. How to use all parameters and modify the template can be read at Module:Sports table/doc and below are a few explanations.
Season start
[edit]Before season has started the update parameter should reflect that and the startdate should also be listed. This is done by having
|update=future |start_date=3 October 2156
Later when season has started the update parameter is the date of the latest match, for example
|update=3 October 2159
and the startdate parameter is removed.
Statusletters
[edit]When teams have qualified for a tournament, secured promotion or been relegated, a statusletter should be added. This is done with |status_XXX=
(with XXX being the team). As an example, if Olympiacos had qualified for the tournament, they have next to them in qualification column the letter that can be added amongst the other team-parameters, like
|win_OLY=0 |draw_OLY=0 |loss_OLY=0 |gf_OLY=0 |ga_OLY=0 |status_OLY=Q
where Q stands for Olympiacos being qualified. The other letters are C (Champion), T (Qualified for tournament but not for phase indicated), R (Relegated) and more. The complete list can be found at Module:Sports table (and in code at Module:Sports table/football). The statusletters can be combined, so for example when a team has both qualified for Champions League and become Premier League champions we use |status_OLY=CQ
.
Qualification and Relegation column
[edit]Qualification and relegation column is used to display what will happen to the positions and teams when season ends, as an example teams 2-5 qualify for European Competition play-offs (Superleague Greece play-oofs), and when a team has secured that qualification/relegation, a statusletter is added (see above). This is controlled by the result parameters, like
|result1=CLGS |result2=EUPO |result3=EUPO |result4=EUPO |result5=EUPO |result14=REL |result15=REL |result16=REL
and the rows for definition of the shortenings
|col_CLGS=green1 |text_CLGS=Qualification for the UEFA Champions League Third Qualification Round
|col_EUPO=yellow1 |text_EUPO=Qualification to Superleague Greece play-offs
|col_REL=red1 |text_REL=Relegation to Football League
When this changes, for example after a team has been disqualified from the league, the result line should be modified to adjust for this. If a team placed on eleventh has been disqualified, it is done by adding |result11=REL
since it refers to relegation, and also a status letter should be added (see above) so that it is cleared team has been disqualified. This result parameter will have to be changed if team changes position for it to follow the team, so for example if team moves from eleventh to eight place it should be |result8=REL
instead of |result11=REL
.
A note could also be added to explain what has happened. This is done by adding |note_XXX=
(see below), with XXX being the team disqualified and text being something like |note_XXX=Team XXX have been disqualified from the league due to financial issues
.
Point deduction
[edit]To modify the points, for example if a team has gotten a deduction, use the |startpoints_XXX=
(with XXX being the team). A three-point deduction for Panathinaikos would be
|startpoints_PAO=-3
To explain the change of points, it is good to have a note to explain (see below), which is done by |note_XXX=
(with XXX being the team). To explain the Panathinaikos deduction above, this could for example be
|note_PAO=Panathinaikos were deducted 3 points due to extreme fan behaviour (source)
Do not forget to source the note (if needed).
Season over
[edit]When season is finished, there is no need to list when the latest update was made so the update parameter should be set to complete
|update=complete
Notes
[edit]Notes can be done in several ways and for full information read Module:Sports table/doc#Notes. For example, there is
|note_XXX=(team note, with XXX being the team)
|hth_XXX=(head to head note, with XXX being the team)
|note_header_res=(result column note for header)
|note_res_AAA=(result column note for given competition, with AAA being the competition)
