Template documentationThere are two official sources on the fatalities in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. This template adopted the figures of Fire and Disaster Management Agency (総務省消防庁災害対策本部), which gives a city-by-city breakdown (19,759 deaths, 2,553 missing, 6,242 injured, as of March 2022). Another source, National Police Agency, which gives a less-precise prefecture-by-prefecture breakdown (15,899 deaths, 2,526 missing, 6,167 injured, as of March 2021),[2] was not adopted by this template.
