Teacup is an American horror television series created by Ian McCulloch and inspired by the novel Stinger by Robert R. McCammon.
The first season premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2024, and premiered on Peacock on October 10, 2024, with eight half-hour episodes.[1]
Premise
[edit]On an isolated ranch in rural Georgia, several people are forced together to face a mysterious threat.

Production

[edit]In December 2022, it was announced Peacock had given a straight-to-series order to a contemporary horror series from Ian McCulloch and James Wan.[2] E. L. Katz was announced as the director of the opening episode.[2]
Casting
[edit]In February 2024, it was announced Yvonne Strahovski had been cast in the series, now known as Teacup, as Maggie Chenoweth.[3] Scott Speedman was cast that same month to star opposite Strahovski.[4]
Release
[edit]The series premiered on Peacock on October 10, 2024.[1]

[edit]On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 77% of 30 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6.5/10. The website's consensus reads: "Teacup's human drama has some spillage but the atmospheric frights of this horror series leave a pleasing aftertaste."[7] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 54 out of 100, based on 13 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.
