Tantilla jani, also known commonly as Jan's centipede snake, is a species of snake in the subfamily Colubrinae of the family Colubridae.[2] The species is native to Guatemala and southern Mexico.
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, jani, is in honor of Italian taxonomist Giorgio Jan.[3]
Geographic range
[edit]T. jani is found in Guatemala,[1][2] and in adjacent Mexico in the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca.[1]
Habitat
[edit]The preferred natural habitat of T. jani is forest.[1]
