Tangata parafurcata is a species of Orsolobidae. The species is endemic to New Zealand.[1]
Taxonomy
[edit]This species was described in 1985 by Ray Forster and Norman Platnick from a male specimen collected in Southland. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1]
Description
[edit]The male is recorded at 2.28mm in length. The carapace and abdomen are patterned dorsally.[1]
Distribution
[edit]This species is only known from Tuatpaere in Southland, New Zealand.[1]
Conservation status
[edit]Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size" and "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2]
