Homosexuality issues / Women Rape
[edit]2 major issues have been purposely omitted or whitewashed
1. His Anti LGBTQ+ stand

2. Ongoing accusations of improper conduct with women.

- Agreed. Article also missed the fact that he is the ideological leader of Noam. Added these notes to the article. Toomuchcuriosity (talk) 09:47, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
Subsection title for allegations of sexual assault
[edit]A subsection titled "allegations of sexual assault" was changed to "controversy" recently. I think it's important to keep mention of "sexual assault" in the subsection title (at least until police investigations are complete). Other bios of living notable people (e.g. Kevin Spacey) contain sections for alleged sexual assault. I believe this editorial decision should apply to Rabbi Thau as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toomuchcuriosity (talk • contribs) 18:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Sexual Assault allegations/controversy rewrite
[edit]looking at this section, I can see two things that immediately come off as unnecessary or in violation of NPOV. First, that the Rabbi denied the allegations - that's basically a given (almost everyone, regardless of guilt, does) and I don't think it needs to be there.
The second is that he's supported other figures accused of sexual misconduct. This might be a subtle POV statement, but I think it's definitely meant to imply that he has certain attitudes towards sexual assault and perpetrators, when we don't actually have any evidence of that. I propose removing that sentence as well. EasyAsPai (talk) 17:28, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I misread it - he didn't respond to the allegations, so I think that can probably stay. But I still think that the sentence about his support for others accused should go. EasyAsPai (talk) 00:05, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I've done some rewriting so that it includes both the women who've come forward, the first woman's age (to provide time context to her claims), the fact that there was a call for investigation made by notable religious figures, and the most recent update on the case (turned over to the prosecutor's office for review). I removed the June 2023 claim because it did not seem well-sourced and I did not find discussion of it in the other coverage, and I ditched the line about his support of other accused/convicted rapists, because of the POV concerns I describe above.
- I tried to maintain NPOV, keeping in mind that there appears to be a lot of criticism of Thau but also that he has not been convicted of any crime. If anyone believes that I've run afoul of BLP or NPOV, please revert and let me know! EasyAsPai (talk) 01:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Conspiracy
[edit]As it is written, a woman said that Thau had repeatedly assaulted her for many years, beginning when she was a minor.
In January 2023, after the investigation was opened, she publicly claimed that Thau is a descendant of Mengele, and a member of a Nazi group that is trying to harm the State Of Israel.[1]
I'm not sure, but some argue that it gives proportion to the credibility of her accusations. Should the accusation of Nazism be mentioned, as they did in the French Wikipedia? 2A01:6500:B107:A784:F968:D28:5F:EBBD (talk) 05:10, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
