New Format needed

[edit]

The format of the tournament changed in 2017 to a team format. In 2018 two-man teams play fourball on thurs and sat, and alternate shot on Fri and sun. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.186.233 (talk) 02:56, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Already explained in the third paragraph. Tewapack (talk) 15:13, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How to display the format change in the winners table

[edit]

It seems to me it should be displayed at least as prominently as the name changes. Since it completely changed the nature of the tournament, I'd prefer to have separate tables. pʰeːnuːmuː →‎ pʰiːnyːmyː → ‎ɸinimi → ‎fiɲimi 06:49, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Separate tables seems like the best solution to me. Also, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility/Data tables tutorial#Avoiding column headers in the middle of the table, headers should be avoided in the middle of tables; this obviously includes tournament names as well, but I'll start a centralised discussion regarding that. wjematherplease leave a message... 07:33, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking that the two tables merged with a note explaining it looked neater. But if the consensus is to split them then I’m ok with that. Jimmymci234 (talk) 12:17, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think as long as the event stays a PGA Tour event, and stays a stroke play event (albeit a two man event now), there's no harm in keeping the winners' table intact. Although, this is one of those fine line situations where it's impossible to know if one way is better than another way. Johnsmith2116 (talk) 08:22, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
