Under Duress?
"it is very clear from the tone and subject matter of Zombie Powder that the author was in a state of severe emotional trauma when he wrote it" While it's true he was under duress, it didn't seem more notably twisted than any other shonen manga to me. - mako 07:17, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
The article appeared to be coped verbatim from Baka-Updates Manga. I've changed the wording and added character info, but I'm basing this on what other sites have said.- 01:23, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Not quite related to anything but...
Does anybody know if the author is going to at least give any information about what happens in the series, even if it's not going to be continued? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.233.208.130 (talk) 06:47, 6 December 2006 (UTC).
- Nearly everyone dies. Gamma joins C.T. Smith in the arrancar army after death, while the doctor becomes a shinigami captain. Wolfgangina and her brother Emilio settle down to a normal life. Any other questions? --tjstrf talk 06:55, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
And where exactly did you get this information? BLEACH and Zombiepowder are not related....---210.213.199.6 14:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- It was a joke based on the similarities of the characters, many of whom have their spirits and character models live on in new forms in Bleach. --tjstrf talk 07:08, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I personally would have linked smith to Kisuke as thats the first person I thought of when I saw him. 74.119.210.239 21:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, yeah. Bleach is really cool and all, but I personally hope Tite Kubo finishes it soon, so he can hopefully get back to Zombie Powder. With the huge popularity of Bleach, I'm sure tons of people would buy Zombie Powder if he were to continue it now. In my opinion, Zombe Powder has a much better story anyways. I think it was just the whole Western settting and stuff that caused people to overlook it and killed this great manga. Link's Awakening 04:44, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
There is one character that looks like Ichago in zombie powder. Its a girl and she works genimi labratories i can't remember her name. She is the one who got angry at wolfina.Sand geni 17:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Shonen Jump
I haven't really checked through the current version of the article, but I think I read somewhere once that it was cancelled because of popularity....but is it beacuse of high or low popularity? Anime News Network says that it was very popular and Tite Kubo was planning later chapters, but Shonen Jump wanted to cancel it for some reason. T3h Seeahrahsoo 01:55, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Syrasu
- Low popularity. Shonen Jump conducts weekly polls asking for your three favorite series, and if a series falls below a certain level they cancel it. Doceirias 05:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
"ZOMBIEPOWDER."?
I have a question: is the title of this manga "Zombie Powder" or "ZOMBIEPOWDER."? The Japanese wiki page lists it as the latter, and the covers of the four volumes that exist seem to have it written that way, too. Which is correct? It's been bothering me for a while. -____-

- It is common practice for the Japanese to put Roman letters that are intended to be used alongside Japanese writing, especially logos, in ALLCAPS. You'll see this done quite often, SONY, BLEACH, NARUTO, etc. It doesn't magically make the name not be Zombie Powder though, and Wikipedia policy (WP:MOS-TM) says not to name articles in ALLCAPS like that.
- Why do they do it? Not sure, probably has something to do with increased visibility. Lowercase letters look pretty diminutive compared with the size required to write legible kanji. --tjstrf talk 05:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- He's right, but those are the correct romanizations and ZOMBIEPOWDER. is still published in america with that name unlike NARUTO. Jump Guru 20:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Character Similarities
I'm curious about the possible inclusion of a section noting the similarity's between Zombie Powder and Rurouni Kenshin and Trigun and how Tite Kubo may have drawn inspiration from the two popular series. Similarity's include:
- Zombie Powder and Trigun take place on a western themed planet.
- Yahiko Myojin and John Elwood Shepherd are introduced into the series as pick pockets. Both also try to unsuccessfully rob the main character.
- Vash and C.T. Smith both are exemplary marksmen with pistols.
- Kenshin and Gamma both are masters of an extremely rare and powerful form of swordsmanship.
- Kenshin and Gamma both have ruthless killer within them (thought Gamma still kills).
- Gamma wears a silver coat much in the same fashion of Vash's.
- Vash and Gamma have some sort of alteration to their arms (Gammas right arm has armor nailed to it and Vash's left arm is prosthetic)
- The original design of Gamma featured him as a samurai.
- At some point in Rurouni Kenshin and Zombie Powder a enemy that spits fire is encountered and attacked head on purposefully by his opponent.
- Yahiko Myojin and Elwood Shepherd become stronger fighters as the series continues.
- Wolfgangina Lalla Getto and Kaoru Kamiya share similar personalities
More to come. Coalvayne 07:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
If there was a short section to be added, perhaps about Zombie Powder's similarities to other works, I'm not sure it should have this extensive a list- just a note that the style and setting are similar to, possibly inspired by, Trigun, and that some characters do have similarities with Rurouni Kenshin and [obviously] Bleach characters. That said, I do have some things to add to the list above:
- Early on in the manga, mention is made of how Gamma survives on a world of guns using only a sword- this is reminiscent of a similar scene in Trigun Maximum where Wolfwood remarks on how Rai-dei the Blade survives on a world of guns using the way of the sword.
- Gamma's coat is quite similar to that worn by Sieg Warheit in the computer game Chaos Legion- both coats are white/silver, quite tattered and worn at the bottom, have black fur trim and a black insignia on the back [Gamma's being a butterfly, Sieg's being some kind of complex glyph]

Sorry, but Wikipedia does not publish original research. Unless a reliable external source has mentioned these similarities or Kubo admits to being inspired by those two series in an interview or volume extra some place, they can't go in the article. --erachima talk 10:59, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah, of course. That's fine, I'm okay with that. Just a little trivia. Also fixed the incorrect spelling of this very section head- It's 'similarities' not 'similarity's'. Sorry, but it was bugging me.78.146.64.223 (talk) 09:51, 28 August 2008 (UTC) 10:51, 28 August 2008

- I can't find anything about it. He was probably just joking. --Eruhildo 01:58, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Zombie Powder is unfinshed. Jump Guru 20:59, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Zombie Powder Itself
On the article, it says that the rings create Zombie Powder when they are all brought together, but according to Gamma in Vol. 2, they 'Give Birth' to the Powder when they embed themselves in a host's brain. Im going to change it, but of course, it's open to discussion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.216.42.206 (talk) 21:58, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
