Name

[edit]

The name Zolomon does not exist. In Russian sources his name was Zalman (cf here).--24.185.132.44 (talk) 01:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disownment by the family

[edit]

This information that he was disowned by his father because of conversion is taken from the memoirs of Bazhanov and this is entirely invented. In fact, his father Mikhail Sverdlov was baptized at about the same time in order to marry his second wife Maria Aleksandrovna Kormiltseva, with whom he had 2 children (German, 1905−1984, and Aleksandr, b. 1910), both baptized. Further, it is claimed that he converted because of restrictions on Jews to live in big cities. This cannot be true since the family already lived in a big city outside the pale of settlement (Nizhny Novgorod).--24.185.132.44 (talk) 01:19, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Potential changes to "The Gaullist diplomat" section

[edit]

The section implies a diplomatic recognition of France of what the source calls "Red China", which has been translated to "Popular China" in the article. To avoid confusion and make the article look generally better translated from the original German source, I would suggest to change the wording to something like "the People's Republic of China". There a few more parts of this section which I think could be changed, but which not necessarily need to be, mostly just issues with translation from the original source.
