A fact from Zhuge Shuang appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 30 September 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
|
"Laoyang"
[edit]The page is currently sourced to the Chinese wiki or wikisouce and gave the reading "Laoyang" for 栎阳. The modern reading for those characters is "li" and "yang" and the ancient city (presumably gone by this point) which was the capital of Qin for awhile was written that way but pronounced (equivalent to) "Yueyang" (cf. Zdic's entry on 櫟). The Tang-era city might have been pronounced "Laoyang" but I'd like to see a source for it that addresses the oddity. — LlywelynII 07:58, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
