Consecration

The article says that the Pedestrian area was "Consecrated" - is that true, or is it just a slight mistranslation? Consecration implies a religious service which turned the area into hallowed ground. I think the author might have simply meant that the area was turned over to pedestrians then, but I don't want to change it if it is true... Brickie 15:15, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
