History

[edit]

This site (in English) might be useful in helping a non-German speaker in fixing the history section: http://www.kulturpfad-franken.de/englisch/zeil/zeil.html Itsfullofstars 04:42, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I did what I could...the site isn't very comprehensive so the section still needs quite a bit of expansion. Gzkn 07:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, and you're right about that source not exactly being comprehensive, now that I've given it a closer look. I wonder if most of the German wiki article's history section also came from the German edition of that same site I pointed out. In any case, I tried to do some (laborious) translation from a few german sources to help flesh the history out a little more, with not exactly overwhelming results. Although I lived in Germany for four years while I was a teenager (my dad was stationed there while in the US Air Force), and took a few classes in German, this was in the early 70's and I've forgotten just about everything. If you don't use it, ya lose it. Itsfullofstars 01:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These look like other history pages, in German: http://www.zeil-am-main.de/03tourismus/zeilbuerger.html http://www.zeiler-weinfest.de/gesch.htm

Anyone fluent in German, we need you! Hilfe, bitte! :-) Itsfullofstars 01:23, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, THIS has got to be the mother-lode as far as history of Zeil am Main goes (too bad it's all in German)...

Even if only a small part of it was translated to English it would be more than enough to satisfy anyone with an interest in the history of Zeil, I think. - Itsfullofstars 01:32, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
