Population figures
[edit]Official 2004 census population data is 395,227, but all governorate of Zarqa was 764,650. Latest estimations of governorate population was 834,400 (2006). Is it possible in 2000 was city population of 792,665? It looks like muhafaza(governorate) population, not city proper Bogomolov.PL (talk) 09:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Establishment
[edit]This map from 1701 shows Zarqa as the only major city in the region. The statement in our article that it was established by Chechen immigrants in the 1900s doesn't make sense given this evidence.
The name is of Akkadian origin (Zar-Ka) which mean the Place of Water (Zar being Water and Ka being Place or Area) , hence at the Dead Sea is the Zara springs (Zara; Water) and Also in the heart of Amman an area locally called (Wadi Sakra) which comes from Wadi Zara which mean the Valley of Water — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omran791516 (talk • contribs) 09:48, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
