Tributes
[edit]May wish to include information on "tributes" paid for peaceful existence with neighbors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.105.185.75 (talk • contribs) 23:49, 26 October 2015
Removal of coordinates
[edit]Whoever is bent on removing coordinates should read WP:NOTCENSORED. It's too late to push the "undo" button on public information. If you really think there's a legit reason to do this, you should request oversight not editwar over this. I have requested page protection. – Brianhe (talk) 17:17, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
Reliable source for coordinates
[edit]Before adding it, I thought I'd post this report for discussion: ZAQISTÁN: LA SECESIÓN by Ingrid Burrington. It includes a map and the coordinates 41°26′24″N 113°25′37″W / 41.440°N 113.427°W. It appears to have been made by one of the Art Collective members. I think this is fine for the article source-wise, unless someone here has a policy-based objection. — Brianhe (talk) 21:12, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- I've removed the coordinates as part of a copy edit to get the article in line with what the sources say. Although we can be reasonably certain that those coords were accurate, they were not mentioned in any of the articles. The reason for this was a deliberate suppression of the location by the owner, as he doesn't want people wondering into the desert: as far as I can see, the coordinates have still not been added to the his website, so I assume that's still his wish. They are not necessary to a reader having a better understanding of the subject. Bromley86 (talk) 00:20, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Sources
[edit]Just realised that our 4 main sources ([1][2][3][4]) are a little less impressive than they might at first appear: they were all published in the space of a week. Looks to me like churnalism, with People having a bit of a moment and writing 2 articles with effectively the same subject matter in 2 days. Bromley86 (talk) 20:42, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- It's true there are a lot from October 2015, whether from a coordinated PR push, who knows. I added an additional newspaper item from 2016 to further reading and a 2016 TV item to external links. And a Newsweek item from last month (April 2020). ☆ Bri (talk) 17:13, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
