From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Innovation and design has and remains the cornerstone of success for Zanussi: a glance at products such as OZ, Zoe and Teo encapsulates this, while today's technologies and user-friendly designs continue to build on this heritage - for example, in the early 1980s Zanussi launched the Jetsystem washing machine range to great acclaim whilst at the same time running the “Appliance Of Science” advertising campaign in the UK. The campaign is acknowledged as one of the most successful marketing campaigns of all time and still remembered by many today. The Jetsystem is still a leading technology." - Is this not subjective? It reads like a press release!

It seems the entire article was written by two or three people, using entirely promotional language. These "attacks" were quite a while apart, it seems entirely intentional. I don't even know what to do here. I'm working slowly to clean it up, but I feel like the entire "product history" theme is completely useless and helps nobody. I'll keep cleaning it up, but if future editors notice more promotional language appearing it might be necessary to explain WP:COI to the promotional editors. Zanussi have also now recently began to provide a Kitchenware range across the UK and Ireland. I have confirmations to prove this. I think it would look good for Zanussi to show its versatility.

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. @Scottturner: "I have confirmations" is not enough. Please state specifically which independent sources have reported on this; ideally, provide links so we can verify them more quickly. —C.Fred (talk) 13:49, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"In 1985, Zanussi introduced the Jetsystem on their range of washing machines, which uses a regurgitation pump to pump the water in the drum onto the clothes via a jet hole in the door seal."

I suggest: "In 1985, Zanussi introduced the Jetsystem on their range of washing machines, which uses a circulation pump to recirculate the water in the drum onto the clothes, via a jet spray in the door seal."

Important Note: Change "regurgitation" to "circulation". This is because regurgitation means back-flow, or reflux, in only one tube/hose/conduit. "Circulation" on the other hand, infers a continuous loop - which is precisely how the machine operates. 92.28.121.65 (talk) 13:45, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The section on after sales service erroneously states that Zanussi service was run from Slough. Zanussi UK never had offices in Slough, their after sales service was run from head office which, although moving offices several times was always in Reading, Berkshire.

Suggest change to "Until the end of the 1980s Zanussi service was run from Reading, Berkshire and was delivered via a network of independent repairers".

Source: my father was the first After Sales Service Director for Zanussi in the UK and set up the service network. 82.5.17.86 (talk) 11:53, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We can't use word of mouth from people as sources. We need to have the information published in a reliable source to include it. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 12:03, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@ScottishFinnishRadish: Honestly, for something like this where the original text is unsourced, the requester says they have very close first-hand knowledge, they're saying there's a blatant falsehood in the article, and there's no reason to disbelieve them, I think it's best to just do the requested edit ... and I've done so. Thanks. Generally if something is ambiguous I take a quick look, but my judgement isn't perfect. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:52, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
