Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_guitar In the 21st century, European avantgarde composers like Richard Barrett, Fausto Romitelli and Karlheinz Essl used the electric guitar (together with extended playing techniques) in solo pieces or ensemble works. Probably the most ambitious and perhaps significant work to date is Ingwe (2003-2009) by Georges Lentz written for the young Australian guitarist Zane Banks. "Ingwe" is a towering 60-minute work for solo electric guitar, exploring that composer's existential struggles and taking the instrument into realms previously unknown to the instrument in a concert music setting.
Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Lentz His latest compositions include a work for solo viola and orchestra called Monh written for German soloist Tabea Zimmermann, as well as Ingwe for solo electric guitar, written for the young Australian guitarist Zane Banks.
