Possibly POV

[edit]

The section about the trial seems to be written in a very POV format. For example, "pornographic" is frequently placed in quotation marks. I believe this should be reviewed. --Dhawk790 (talk) 17:23, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a suitable entry

[edit]

Until now there have only been entries for Yury Dmitriev on the Russian and Ukrainian versions of Wikipedia.

It is good to have got this far, but I wish the Western media would begin responding. Then we would have some English-language sources for the more demanding or curious reader. At present only the Rights in Russia website has any serious information to offer those without knowledge of Russian (or Ukrainian).

This page has now been reviewed

[edit]

This morning I received a message from Wikipedia (editor, DragonflySixtySeven) that the "page has been reviewed".

Accordingly, I'm removing the Unreviewed tag and allowing search engines to pick up this entry.

Removing unrelated article in Azeri

[edit]

A Wiki article, using Arabic script, has been recently added to this page in the "Other Languages" section - end of left side column.

After consultation with linguists it seems that the article concerns the law and makes no mention of Yury Dmitriev. I am therefore removing it from this page.

Assessment of evidence against Yury Dmitriev

[edit]

Thank you, En historiker, for adding a brief passage to the opening section of this page, concerning the general response of Dmitriev's family, friends and colleagues to the terrible charges brought against him last year.

Yesterday's court hearing in Petrozavodsk (26 December 2017) considered the assessment of the evidence made by the new forensic experts. To the dismay of the judge and the prosecution the new assessment did NOT find any pornographic element in the photographs Dmitriev took of his adopted daughter.

The whole debate can be examined in more depth on the regularly updated Dmitriev Affair website.
