Located locality to 71 kms. to the Southeastern of Conception. Its origin goes back Hard to old San Felipe of Austria, getting up in 1585. In 1766 the villa title is granted to him, naming like patrono to San Sebastián, whose date of celebration, each 20 of January, arouses to tourists and villagers to visit the sanctuary, constructed in its name. The main economic activity is the agriculture, that uses 57% of the active sector of its population. The last years, the forest activity also has played a role important. Hello, I searched for Rere on wikipedia and it kept taking me to the New Zealand municipality. I cannot say about any connection between Rere, Chile and New Zealand. But I knew of myths with evidence in the history of Chile and California (USA) of Chilean settlement in Coastal California in the early 19th century. Chileans esp. from the Department of Rere were invited by colonial authorities to emigrate in California. Several of its' settlements during the Spanish colonial period turned into modern cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Cruz, California and Santa Barbara, California. + 71.102.12.55 (talk) 04:52, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
