Yulee is both a CDP and a CCD, which one is this page about?

[edit]

In the Nassau County page, under CDPs, the page for the CDP redirects here, when this page is actually about the CCD; which is a different entity.

The CCD of Yulee is a Census county subdivision, which is a subdivision of a county, one level above a municipality.

Link to the CCD and CDP so you can see that they are not the same. Should a new page be created for the CDP as there is already a page for the CCD (this page) and have all the links that mean to refer to the CDP link to that?

https://data.census.gov/cedsci/profile/Yulee_CDP,_Florida?g=1600000US1279175

You can overlay the boundaries of one over the other by:

- Opening one of the links

- Clicking on the Maps tab

- Clicking 'Boundaries' at the top

- Selecting either 'County Subdivision' or 'Place'; whichever one is not already selected. BhamBoi (talk) 23:25, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the population listed is of the CDP, not the CCD... BhamBoi (talk) 23:27, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about CCD/CDP at project talk page

[edit]

A discussion about whether this article should be about the CCD or the CDP is taking place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Florida#Yulee, Florida. Donald Albury 13:49, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion on the project talk page has been auto-archived without further comments, so I'm moving discussion back here. CCDs are not notable, and Yulee in particular is notable as a CDP, not a county division (unless I'm mistaken and people actually refer to the entire section of the county as Yulee). I think the article should be scoped down to only cover the CDP, replacing population, area, economic, etc. figures as appropriate. The neighborhoods list is sourced from Nextdoor (does that pass WP:RELY?) and as best I can tell, are almost all street names located inside the CDP or immediately adjacent to it. The ZIP and area code lists are already covered by the infobox, and I think "other unincorporated communities" could easily be reworked as "nearby communities". It seems like most of the rest of the article that applies to the CCD but not the CDP would belong better in the county article. Rayonier has announced its location as being in "Wildlight", a planned development that hasn't reached the level of CDP yet (but styles itself as "town of"), so that part may merit a separate section. The other Yulee, Florida

[edit]

The was another place with a post office named Yulee in Florida (in Alachua County) before this Yulee acquired a post office (see Historic communities of Alachua County). That previous Yulee does not meet the GNG and does not have an article, so it does not need a hat note. A footnote that the Yulee name was used for an earlier place might be helpful in the article, however. Donald Albury 13:56, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
