The result of the proposal was consensus not to move the page, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 03:19, 15 June 2009 (UTC) Young Pirate → Ung Pirat — Primary name, do not unnecessary translate when term is not used in English press. was article at destination. Moved to User:Scientus/Ung Pirat, pls delete that at well. Scientus (talk) 21:46, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Seems to be used in English press to me: [1], [2], [3], [4]. TJ Spyke 22:29, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose - The WP article on the "Piratpartiet" is at Pirate Party, the English translation of the Swedish name, so why shouldn't the party's youth group be under the English name as well? Unless a foreign-language expression or name has attained such wide-spread usage in English as to be well known, we should usually use a translated name for the article, with a redirect from the foreign-language expression. Cf. Young Socialists in the SPD vs. "Jusos" or Hitler Youth vs. "Hitler-Jugend". Ed Fitzgerald t / c 03:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose per Ed Fitzgerald. This is not the Swedish Wikipedia, even if there seems to be creeping Europeanism whereby European non-English stuff seems to be overwhelming English on Wikipedia. 70.29.212.226 (talk) 05:04, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
