Regarding "when" tag on name change
[edit]I've done some search in the Trove database, and very early on it was called both things. My suspicion is that both names were used for a while, with the Football being dropped fairly soon. This article from 1905 is headed Young Australia League but the text mentions Young Australia Football League. YOUNG AUSTRALIA LEAGUE. (1905, July 3). The Daily News (Perth, WA : 1882 - 1955), p. 10 (THIRD EDITION). http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article82675450
Unfortunately the League's own website provides very little history.
This article from 1 July 1905, FOOTBALL. (1905, July 1). The West Australian (Perth, WA : 1879 - 1954), p. 9. from http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article25517965, describes the formation of the Young Australia League.
My guess is that it never changed its name, but that two names were used for a while, but I don't have time to research it further now, as I came to this via another research interest.
