Edit war up ahead
[edit]Looked at the page history. @Ippantekina and @Tree Critter, both of you should start discussing your content dispute about Apple Music's contextual reliability here. Given both of you have been around Wikipedia for a while, I hope you folks already know how to best approach this. Elias 🐍 💬 "What did I tell you?"

- Geez, should have done this. @Tree Critter: I never said Apple Music was unreliable itself. I said, Apple Music, which came in 2015, does not suffice as reliable for release dates of pre-2015 tracks. Archive-urls for iTunes Store are the way to go. And have you listened to the "Love Story (Stripped)" track? It is not a live version recorded for Live from Clear Channel Stripped 2008 but a studio version stripped off the plugged instrumentals. Regarding the track listing section, I already explained citing Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs#Single track listings. Ippantekina (talk) 06:10, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Then we can remove the date and month but it was released to itunes in 2009. It's disingenuous to try and remove valid information because "the date isn't accurate enough". There are so many articles on Wikipedia where the only date available is a year.
- Yes, I have listened to both the "Love Story" on the "You Belong with Me" single and "Love Story" from Live from Clear Channel Stripped 2008. They're the same track.
- "You Belong with Me" actually has a couple track listings, but if you don't like them then sure, we can get rid of them.
- While we're here, we should talk about All Access radio. Unless you're blind, you can see that Cool New Music does not apply to all of Taylor's music. You can also read that Cool New Music is only available to radio stations that an artist and their label approve. Cool New Music is a release: It is a digital download to radio, and it is an online music streaming service for everyone. So could you please explain why you don't think that an independent release belongs in Release history? Tree Critter (talk) 03:21, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Tree Critter:; Have you searched through the Wayback Machine to say "it was released to itunes in 2009"? It was released as part of Countdown to Fearless but I'm not seeing if it ever received a standalone digital release on iTunes. I get "Cool New Music" is a release platform but pitching any album tracks to radio for this type of promotion is not rare; see Template:Infobox song#released:
Dates for leaked copies, advance or limited promo releases to radio stations, etc., generally are not used
. This is similar to the radio dates added to BBC Radio 1 and does not guarantee that it was indeed "released" in a traditional sense. Lobbying between radios and labels are normal, as was the case with "New Year's Day" when Big Machine had lobbied with radio before officially releasing it as a single days later. - It received a digital release in 2009, and it has nothing to do with how rare radio airplay is, it's an independent release. See Template:Infobox song#released:
Dates for leaked copies, advance or limited promo releases to radio stations, etc., generally are not used, but may be included in an appropriate section of the main body.
Music articles have a release history section, and all independent releases go there. Tree Critter (talk) 06:05, 9 December 2022 (UTC)- @Tree Critter: you forgot the most important part, "if noteworthy". Ippantekina (talk) 09:48, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

- I don't trust the date of January 1 because it reeks of automatically generated month and day when only the year is known. Also, we all know Discogs fails WP:USERG but they say the single was released April 21, 2009, following earlier promo versions,[1] so there's reason enough to doubt Apple's dates. MTV announced the "new music video" in early May 2009,[2] while newcountrysongs.com says May 2.[3] People were already talking about the making of the video on April 19[4] and April 23.[5] All that to say I definitely don't think Jan 1 is correct. Binksternet (talk) 06:26, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- There's also a source saying the country-radio release date was April 20 in the article already. I don't know why this user is stressing on the importance of Apple Music in this case, after I explained that Apple Music came in 2015 and their release dates for early songs are unreliable (especially when Swift's old catalog is now owned by, well, we all know who that is). Ippantekina (talk) 09:51, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- While you're at it, Binksternet, do you have any comments on the "Cool New Music" issue above? It's not pertaining to this article, but to "Lavender Haze". This user argued "Cool New Music" is reliable for release dates. For me, it's just promotional radio push (it's a different thing than All Access's "Future Releases" column) and not official releases. Sorry for dragging you in, just curious... Ippantekina (talk) 09:55, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- No need to respond Binksternet, you've made it clear that you disagree that All Access's Cool New Music counts as a release. Binksternet, Rangel Carregosa, Ippantekina the three of you seem to have a monopoly on the Taylor Swift articles and since I disagree with all of you I think I'm gonna go. The day that the biggest contributors to Taylor Swift's Wikipedia articles don't consider "All Access" and "Apple Music" to be reliable sources is my cue to stop trying to add information to this site. I tried to cite Taylor Swift as a source on a Taylor Swift article and was bullied into removing it so I can only assume that you guys aren't actually fans and just really smart vandalizers. So good job, you bullied an actual fan off. Have fun🤪 Tree Critter (talk) 03:25, 11 December 2022 (UTC)

Why is "with" in minor caps?
[edit]Why? - Joaquin89uy (talk) 09:31, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah that makes no sense 76.229.130.86 (talk) 17:57, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Preposition has to be minor caps Arismauve (talk) 11:42, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
Album cover
[edit]The album cover is from Official Charts, but they are not accurate at all. So I suggest to change to this cover. [6] Arismauve (talk) 11:43, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
