Lead
  • "In the episode, Stan, after celebrating his tenth birthday, begins to develop a profound sense of cynicism, and his inability to see anything positive in the world around him alienates him from his friends"..... quite a mouthful. I'd split it before the "inability" part, and rearrange the first part to In the episode, Stan begins to develop a profound sense of cynicism after celebrating his tenth birthday
  • "Randy Marsh" should link to Randy and Sharon Marsh
  • For those who have not seen the series before, it would be helpful to include Randy's wife Sharon by name
  • I don't think it's necessary to include how "smooth" the seven-episode run went
  • "is notable for its abrupt ending"..... not very neutral, simply say that it ends abruptly
  • Matt Stone and Trey Parker only need to have their first names mentioned when first introduced
  • "The episode's ending is resolved in the mid-season premiere"..... The episode is continued..... I'd also specify that Ass Burgers aired in October 2011
Plot
  • "Sharon Marsh" should link to Randy and Sharon Marsh
  • "Randy argues with Sharon over the matter, so he decides"..... place "After" at the beginning, and remove the "so"
  • See above note in lead regarding Randy, or unlink him here
  • something about "huge" in "huge argument" doesn't seem very encyclopedic
  • Unlink Shelly as she doesn't have her own article
Production
  • See above note in lead regarding how "smooth" the seven-episode run was
  • "make the episode a two-parter" → "make a two-part episode"
Themes
  • There are some instances of ″ and ′ in this section (curly quotation marks). Per MOS:QUOTEMARKS, ″ should be ", and ′ should be ' (straight quotation marks).
  • "ends on an upbeat note"..... I think positive note would be better
Cultural references
  • This does not mention anything about Mr. Popper's Penguins or Jack and Jill being referenced in the episode. Since Jack and Jill had not even been released at the time this episode premiered, I'd remove the part on the movie's negative reception. Instead, elaborate on the film references it makes while Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny are at the movies.

Critical reception
  • Include that the author of the HitFix review is Alan Sepinwall.
References
  • FN2: Time (magazine) should not be in all caps
  • FN's 3 and 4: Could time ranges be provided for Stone and Parker's statements? An example would be {{sfn|Stone|2012|loc=04:35}} or {{sfn|Parker|2012|loc=07:11}}
  • FN5: Unlink Time
  • FN7: Link HitFix, which should not be italicized as it is a non-print source
  • FN11: Dead
  • FN12: reliable?
  • FN16: same as FN5
