Zone Fares
This doesnt make any sense:
A plan has been proposed to make a pay-by-zone fare of $1.50 per zone which would make way for the plan to create 3rd (West of Martin Grove Station), 4th (East of Cornell Terminal) and 5th (South of Finch station) zones
West of Martin Grove is a matter of 2 city blocks before Peel Region. Not Realistic. East of Cornell is very close to Durham Region. Again, not many services past there. South of Finch Station - NOT YORK REGION TERRITORY. Four routes go there, Viva green, Viva orange, 7 Martin Grove and 90/90B Leslie.
I am removing this unrealistic plan. Post any objections here. User:CorSter, 01/06/06
- Once again, the question has to be asked; is wiki an encylopedia, or a list of urban myths and speculations?
- BTW, Won't Cornell become the "Gateway" for YRT to DRT? Bacl-presby 15:42, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- DRT will probably make connections to the TTC first, then YRT. User:CorSter 01/07/06
- This is a matter of the transit equivalent of fantasy football. Someone is treating this page (like the Viva (bus rapid transit)) like their personal scenario simulator or something. Sure there may be a good idea or two, but please, keep it to regional plan. User:Phil-hong
"Greater Toronto Area Transit Commission"
"A plan for the Greater Toronto Area Transit Commission (GTATC) which would be all 10 GTA Transit services combined as one has been proposed as well as a "Kwik-E Card" with multiple rides on it similar to the ones used in Buenos Aires, Argentina and New York City, NY..." Can someone explain to me the source of this finding? I know that the province is planning a Greater Toronto Area Transit Authority, with weak similarities to Vancouver's TransLink, but once again, who said this? - User:Phil-hong
- Hmm... could be a garbled reference to the GTA Farecard, though that doesn't involve an actual merger of the transport operators. David Arthur 14:28, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Well can someone make it less garbled? I've never heard of the GTATC (the closest I've heard about is the Toronto Area Transit Authority, which became the Greater Toronto Transit Authority (GO Transit). The official name that's been used for the fare system so far is called the GTA Farecard. - User:Phil-hong
- The reference has been removed-- since there are no plans to combine transit services in the GTA. A proposed integrated fare card reference was made in its place. User:yellowassassin

New Logo and future plans
- Just got the August MyYRT with the new logo (someone ready to post it?), and noting that the 2006-2010 5 year plan...
- To echo the previous comments about "fantasy football"; I don't see 4 fare zones in that report; that comment is going to be history without documentaion.....
Bacl-presby 15:52, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Since this is a discussion page, I feel the need to say just how UGLY the new logo is. The old logo was bold and said YRT. The new logo is two blue blobs. How does THAT say transit. How often have you said: "I would like to take public transit (YRT), but the logo doesn't look right"
Replies appreciated.
Fair use rationale for Image:Old YRT Logo.gif
Image:Old YRT Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
