Talk:Yokneam Illit
Yokneam is a moshava. Yokneam Illit is a development town. The two are confused in this article. Danny 21:51, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Yokneam photos & review

Merge from Qira
[edit]If there is anything notable about Qira (village) which deserves its own page, it should be added to the page which discuses its current location. (Is there a page on Jerusalem in each and every era? It’s all merged into History of Jerusalem). Chesdovi (talk) 22:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge. Chesdovi (talk) 22:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. There is an entire series on Palestinian destroyed villages. The Qira page already mentions that Yokneam is located on its former lands. Palestinian destroyed villages that have names different to that of the present-day Israeli towns built on their ruins should be discussed separately, though the articles should link to one another. - Oppose per Tiamut. --Al Ameer son (talk) 20:00, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose per Tiamut. The Palestinian village and the current Israeli city share a physical location, but are fundamentally different in their identities. It's true that major historical cities have gone through several periods, but trying to merge these two articles will cause confusion. Since I'm the third to oppose, and it's been two months, I'll remove the merge proposal, leaving mutual "See also" links in its place. Shalom (Hello • Peace) 03:32, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Yokneam's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 16:20, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Startup Village, Yokneam
[edit]The Startup Village, Yokneam page now redirects to this page. I think that this is an error and would like to see the redirect removed. I am relatively new to editing WikiPedia, so I don't know to request this properly.
I think that the redirect is similar to redirecting "Boston University" to the Boston page. It is true that Boston University could be considered part of the Higher Educataion section on the Boston page, but it is a topic in itself. The emphasis is not on the city, but rather on the educational institution. Donors from outside the city of Boston, overseas study programs, famous graduates and many other topics relevant to the university, but not the city get added to that page.
In the same way, the startup ecosystem based in a village environment (as opposed to an urban area) is part of Yokneam's economy, but is not limited to Yokneam. There are many important aspects to the startup ecosystem that are not relevant to Yokneam.
So, can someone please remove the redirect so that additional information can be added to the Startup Village, Yokneam page. Unclefeet (talk) 21:32, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Time to make a separate page for the startup ecosystem that is separate from the page about the city of Yokneam
[edit]There is currently a redirect from Startup Village, Yokneam to Yokneam. I recommend that the redirect be removed and the Startup Village, Yokneam be developed. I've made a number of updates to deal with editorial comments and update the page so that it is not outdated, but I assume that other wikipedia authors have information that I don't.
Although some of the content is the same, both are really different topics. People interested in the City of Yokneam are not necessarily primarily interested in its high tech area, but might also be interested about life in the city.
People interested in the High Tech Ecosystem located there are not necessarily interested in the cultural life of the city, archeological digs, local parks or sports. Furthermore, the Startup Village, Yokneam contains information on the surrounding towns that are relevant to the High Tech Ecosystem, but not the City of Yokneam (or even Yokneam Moshava). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unclefeet (talk • contribs) 15:59, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
