Distribution and habitat
[edit]I’ve made a sighting at 1500m in NSW. So the 1000m listed in article is conservative.
Differences across range
[edit]There seems to be quite a few variation in the described wingspan of this species (so far I've seen 48-50mm, 48-55mm, over 60mm) and I am wondering whether this just represents differences depending upon local food sources or length of larva growing season (ie climate related) etc. Also I expect there will be variations across its range as to when it pupates and its 'flying season'. I will try and find authoritative sources covering different regions in its range. --Tony Wills (talk) 00:19, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- I really wish that biologists would start qouting a mean and a confidence interval for the mean, rather than some arbitary range. Noodle snacks (talk) 10:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
