Fair use rationale for Image:Al Stewart-Year of the Cat (album cover).jpg
[edit]Image:Al Stewart-Year of the Cat (album cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:16, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Progressive pop
[edit]@Ilovetopaint: I'll even start the process for you. I disagree with changing genre to Progressive pop. Not to mention you are changing all kinds of articles citing one publication. Why is this book the authority on music genres ? Mlpearc (open channel) 18:49, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- Why? Also, genre changes don't require consensus.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 18:50, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- I guess that these standard warnings are all incorrect. Mlpearc (open channel) 18:55, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Mlpearc: What am I looking at here? This is for people who aren't following WP:VERIFY. i provided a reliable source. The burden is on you to prove why my source isn't valid.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 19:03, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, you're the one making a change, burden is on you to gain consensus. I !vote no. Mlpearc (open channel) 19:08, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Nevermind — I meant to add the genre on Year of the Cat (song). Not this page. There is no source for whether the whole album is prog pop.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 19:19, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Protected edit request on 26 July 2016
[edit]This edit request to Year of the Cat has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Please change this:
| Recorded = January 1976
Abbey Road Studios, London
to this:
| Recorded = January 1976 | Studio = Abbey Road Studios, London
This is for one to remove the inappropriate use of small text in the infobox (which already uses smaller-than-normal text), and to change the deprecated use of recording location in |Recorded=
and put it in |Studio=
instead, per the documentation of Infobox album.

Year of the Cat → Year of the Cat (album) – Not the primary topic by long-term significance or usage. Clearly Cat (zodiac) has greater long-term significance, and most "Year of the X" titles redirect to their zodiac signs. Currently the zodiac article is obviously well surpassing the album in pageviews due to recentism, but even in an off-year like 2021, all three topics have virtually the same number of pageviews. Disambiguation is probably the best solution, though a primary redirect to the zodiac sign would also be preferable to the current situation. King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 22:39, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
Oppose: Cat (zodiac) has a completely different title. Why dab this topic on that basis? YorkshireExpat (talk) 22:44, 12 January 2023 (UTC)- @YorkshireExpat: East Asian zodiac years are very often called "Year of the Rat", "Year of the Ox", etc.; in other words, "Year of the Cat" is a valid synonym of Cat (zodiac). For example, "New York" can mean either the city or the state. Under your argument, because New York City "has a completely different title", no dab is necessary and the state can just snatch up the title of New York. But that's not how it works; the state is at New York (state). -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 03:42, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough. In that case a dab page is best. YorkshireExpat (talk) 20:29, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

- Support pointing Year of the cat to a dab page. YorkshireExpat (talk) 20:29, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Support, though it was one of my favorite albums back in the day. And yes let's make it a dab page, even though it's only 2 items. Dicklyon (talk) 09:55, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- The song has a page, so that's another that can go on there. YorkshireExpat (talk) 12:23, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
