Ye Li (basketball)Ye Li – It's the only article with that name, disambiguation unnecessary. --Zanhe (talk) 18:05, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment this title suffers from name ordering problems. If you use Western Order, it is "Li Ye", and there's a disambiguation page at Li Ye, so it is an ambiguous title, considering if you use Western Name Order on some of the entries on that dab page, it would be "Ye Li". 70.24.248.211 (talk) 05:39, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:Naming conventions (Chinese), the Chinese name order (family name first) is to be used exclusively for Chinese names, which is also standard practice in English usage (Yao Ming is almost never called Ming Yao, for example). It helps to add a hatnote to prevent possible confusion with people named Li Ye (as you've done), but a dab page is totally unnecessary. --Zanhe (talk) 06:22, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Consider the figure skater "Chen Lu" and "Lu Chen" are both used in English. So, you will find that English media will use both styles. Even if Yao Ming is found predominantly in one style, not everyone is. A hatnote may suffice. 70.24.248.211 (talk) 06:41, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Chen Lu is not that well-known and people do get confused which is her family name and which is the given name. For all truly famous Chinese people (Deng Xiaoping, Mao Zedong, Chiang Kai-Shek, Sun Yat-sen, etc.), the Chinese name order is always used. Please read WP:Naming conventions (Chinese). --Zanhe (talk) 04:20, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
