Maintenance message removal?

[edit]

Don't know why there is a maintenance message about a single biographical sentence (the first one) being pulled too directly from a recent, reliable educational source... If someone wants to paraphrase the sentence "Yasmine Seale is a British-Syrian writer and literary translator" using other wording, be my guest, but I wouldn't consider this simple statement copyright infringement! I agree with you. But in case it helps:
Yasmine Seale is a Syrian-British literary translator and writer.
Anyone who thinks the original is an intellectual property rights violation is probably not being realistic about how courts would probably view such a claim, I think. CT55555(talk) 04:23, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In the Close paraphrasing explanatory essay, the WP:LIMITED section addresses situations when there are a "limited number of ways to say the same thing", i.e. Close paraphrasing is also permitted when there are only a limited number of ways to say the same thing. This may be the case when there is no reasonable way to avoid using technical terms, and may also be the case with simple statements of fact. There are examples and further discussion in this section that seem helpful for considering this issue. Beccaynr (talk) 15:34, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Translating "the entirety" of the Arabian Nights

[edit]

Her translation of the Arabian Nights (The Annotated Arabian Nights: Tales from 1001 Nights), is a selection, though a substantial one. It cannot be described as entire. 2603:7081:5D00:385C:28A3:3107:1747:629F (talk) 16:07, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
