Attack on Palestinian MKs

[edit]

Section removed by Number 57:

In June 2015, Mazuz told his Palestinian colleagues in the Israeli Knesseth: “We are doing you people a favor by even allowing you to be seated here – terrorists won't be allowed to sit here,” and asked them to give up their Israeli citizenship. Haaretz journalists called his remarks racist, debased, boorish[1] Several left-wing members of Knessetz demanded an apology from Mazuz, but Mazuz refused to retract his statement, adding that the proposal to revoke the ban on citizenship for Palestinians was “written in blood.”[2]

What’s wrong with that? Number 57, please explain the “numerous inaccuracies and mistakes” that you refer to. --Babelfisch (talk) 13:21, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, the inaccuracies/mistakes are as follows:
  1. There are no Palestinians in the Knesset, as only Israelis can be elected. You meant "Arabs"
  2. Knesset mis-spelt as "Knesseth". Israeli is also unnecessary.
  3. The Haaretz journalists' words should be in quotes.
  4. The sentence with the Haaretz journalists' remarks is missing both a final "and" and a full stop.
Secondly, your addition to the article is clearly undue as it makes it even more unbalanced. Your version had 55% of the biography section devoted to these comments.
Lastly, your claim above that this section was removed is a blatant lie. I merely removed chunks of it to reduce the imbalance you created. The current section reads

In June 2015 he told Arab MKs “We are doing you people a favor by even allowing you to be seated here – terrorists won't be allowed to sit here,” and asked them to give up their Israeli citizenship. Several left-wing members of Knesset demanded an apology from Mazuz, but he refused to retract his statement, adding that the proposal to revoke the ban on citizenship for Palestinians was “written in blood.”

The only differences are that your misuse of the word "Palestinian" is not present, and the comments from Haaretz journalists are omitted. The vast majority of it is there word-for-word. Number 57 15:24, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
