This article requires a drastic tidy-up, firstly to bring it up-to-date, and - more importantly - to comply with NPOV. It contains no reference to Smits' controversial pronouncements on topics such as sexuality <http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/12/120406latvia.htm>, and is rather overly-laudatory. Janis Smits redirects to this page, but the politician Janis/Yanis Smits of the Politics section of this page was born in 1968, so he can't be the same person as the Rev. Dr. Yanis Smits who was active in Latvia between 1956 - 1976. Also, look at the photos: they look completely different. --Zsebenci Klopédia09:18, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
