On 23 June 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from Yang Shao-hou to Yang Shaohou. The result of the discussion was moved.

Romanization

Note: "Yang Shao-hou" appears to remain as popular as "Yang Shaohou" as a romanization of his name. No move required, for now. SilverStar54 (talk) 07:06, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend moving it anyway. The article itself was rewritten quite some time ago using only Hanyu Pinyin names, and has received no objections. Jōkepedia (talk) 14:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. After all, Wikipedia policy is to use pinyin unless a clear majority of sources use a different spelling, which is not the case here. SilverStar54 (talk) 19:56, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yang Shao-hou → Yang Shaohou – Both the Wade-Giles spelling "Yang Shao-hou" and the pinyin spelling "Yang Shaohou" are widespread and about equally popular. Since WP:NCZH says to use pinyin unless a "clear majority" of sources use a different system, I recommend the page be moved. SilverStar54 (talk) 19:59, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
