XG?
[edit]What does the 'XG' stand for? Xtra Good? something else? 71.13.81.162 (talk) 19:13, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Confusing statement about MU10 effects
[edit]I don't really understand this bit of the article:
"Users have to design and build their own microcontroller-based MIDI controllers with potentiometers in order to select and adjust the effects available in the MU10."
I haven't seen any examples of such home-brewed hardware, and to my knowledge the XG Gold program opens up most of the MU10 parameters, and XG Edit 95 all the standard ones. Hope someone sees this note and points me to some more information about the microcontroller projects, or edits the main article to explain more. --Zubedar (talk) 22:58, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
XG royalty free examples, midi and mp3 files
[edit]Without XG synthesizer many people do not know how it sounds. Here is a FTP server with royalty free midi files and converted to mp3. Choose any file you want, it is allowed and in the public domain and I am the composer. I am porting next week more xg midi to mp3 with a virtual box virtual machine running the SYX50 software synthesizer and Audacity recording on the host. Anyone needing royalty free music either Youtube, Liveleak, or any other online internet source for consumers is free to use them. That way they are sure to not have royalty issues. Format of naming convention is tracknumber-date-title.extenstion (mp3/midi) http://www.geertjalink.nl/downloads/yamaha/ Suggested demo: http://www.geertjalink.nl/downloads/yamaha/mp3-midi/000-2000-11-01-Example.mp3 Meanwhile people with real XG synthesizers can use this: http://www.geertjalink.nl/downloads/yamaha/archive/ Alslo I would like to ask you to find out which hyperlinks are still working, since XG on the PC is end of life, although I never found better strings than in those days. I need 8 weeks to port, it are around 50 files in mp3 and .mid (xg) format meaning 100 files to port. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.45.156.145 (talk) 18:47, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
XG-Lite ?
[edit]Some products state XG lite (limited XG?) compatibility. Notably I found that in the manual of Roland(!) BK-5. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:45:4e15:c700:d5e0:4830:3a7d:2344 (talk • contribs) 17:57, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
