Should This Be an Article for the Y8 Website
[edit]I vote yes. However, we need consensus, please vote yes or no below. Noisavni (talk) 18:12, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Yes y8 should have a article it's the best online gaming website and also they dont show 1000s of ads like other websites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.231.118.253 (talk) 18:51, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Noisavni Few things, first we don't "vote". Second, I'm unsure of what you're proposing exactly. What would the article contain? You should probably draft it at AfC first before any real discussion can be had since no one knows what we are even discussing. Third, if it's reverting back to the last article you created in this DAB, it will more than likely be deleted as I pointed out previously, it in no way established notability. What sources would you be using to establish this? CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 12:26, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- And let me reiterate why it would be deleted. Here are the three sources you used last time. 1 Alexa rankings are not coverage and they are meaningless as a source in this context. 2 This makes absolutely no mention of Y8. 3 An archive of their own website. Not coverage and can't be used to establish notability. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 12:28, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your continued interest Chrissy. I moved your post down here so we can keep the poll clean. Using a poll will let the Y8 audience that seems mostly younger, interact with the overall discussion without being overwhelmed by our discussion. I have 20 sources and a working draft on Google Docs. If your are interested in contributing to the article, I can give you access. What is your email? Noisavni (talk) 15:43, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Noisavni I've addressed several of these issues on your talk page but please read Wikipedia:Polling is not a substitute for discussion. This is a discussion and as such, I posted my comments where they belong. I'll also note that this article has been deleted 10 times for not even meeting the bare minimum of our inclusion requirements. Your draft needs to be on Wikipedia and you should not be asking anyone for their e-mail in order to contribute or view it. We can't discuss or reach consensus on something that does not exist. - Also, worth noting that y8.com owns the trademark for the term "y8".[1] I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say it's infringing the trademark. It is bad taste not referencing the site though.Noisavni (talk) 07:29, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

- This article is not about the gaming website.
- And did you know that y8.com was once an adult website? No joke! Source(s): https://web.archive.org/web/19981111190512/http://www.y8.com/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.36.229.112 (talk) 05:42, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'm going to update this page for the Y8 Games website. It seems clear that people are looking for that. I would like to invite other contributors to help. Noisavni (talk) 23:52, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- Noisavni No consensus was reached to change this into an article on a subject that doesn't even establish notability. Second, the only independent source doesn't even talk about Y8, the other is alexa (which is not even a valid source) and the third is an archive of their own website. Third, if you wish to change it, you need to discuss it here as consensus isn't two random people requesting it be changed 7 years ago. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:37, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the assistance. Let's discuss here about using this page for the Y8 Website. My argument is that the other articles only contain the reference to the term y8 as part of a model number. Even then the references to the term is rather weak in all three cases. If you would like a compromise, maybe a separate page for Y8 Games would be more accurate. Though with discussion already started here some years ago, I think nearly all users searching for the term are looking for the gaming website. I have additional sources that can be used in the article. However, with limited time, I'm seeking additional help with the writing. Noisavni (talk) 16:33, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Noisavni Y8 cannot currently be created in mainspace as it has been salted. Unless you can provide significant in-depth coverage, it is unlikely there can be an article about it. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 16:41, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- I will do my best to create an in-depth article with good citations. What do you mean by salted though? Noisavni (talk) 16:56, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Noisavni It cannot be created without an administrator due to significant abuse. I'd suggest drafting it through WP:AfC if you wish to create it. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:05, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
