Do we really need a list of anime and manga that feature yokai in some way? Putting aside the fact that this kind of pop culture trivia lists are being removed constantly from this and other yokai-related pages, what does this even add to the page? People come to the yokai page to learn about yokai, not to look for lists of spin off anime. Further, is this how we treat similar topics in other sections? Does the entry for English folklore include a list of cartoons and comic books that mention elves and pixies?
Obviously yokai have an influence on pop culture today, but it is informed by it and not vice versa. I don't know if that's enough to warrant allowing a specific fanbase to keep added lists of every single pop culture reference they can find that is even remotely connected to yokai. It seems to me that major culturally significant works, like the works of Mizuki Shigeru and Miyazaki Hayao, may warrant special mention on this page, but the lists of various individuals' favorite comics and cartoons detract from the quality of this page, IMHO. Can anyone else weigh in on this? Osarusan (talk) 23:00, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The links to other sources, particularly source 3, need to be vetted or changed. When the 3rd reference linking to obake.com in reference to Toriyama Sekien is clicked, it leads to a spam/data gathering/virus page that (in Japanese) claims that the whoever accesses the page now has their data held hostage and will only be released by inputting their credit card information and calling the free-dial number. It also freezes the web app on the computer. Apathyadventures (talk) 11:00, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
