Requested move (request withdrawn)

[edit]

Moved from WP:RM. 199.125.109.126 (talk) 20:09, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

At first, I moved the page from the plain letters to the special letters. But then I wasn't sure whether that was the right thing to do, so I tried to move it back. Whatever other editors here decide to do is fine with me. The user who created the page, User:Genghiskhan, has also created pages with special letters, for example Khánh An, U Minh, so I think the user probably won't mind if it's moved to a name with special letters. I think Husond has a good idea, to move it to "Xuân Thủy, Lệ Thủy". Coppertwig (talk) 12:33, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Why be inaccurate when you can be accurate? English speakers are likely to mentally ignore the diacritics anyway, so it's not as if they impede understanding.--134.174.170.150 (talk) 00:10, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • True. But but by the way, not all English speakers are unaware of how one reads those vowels with diacritics. There are English speakers with knowledge on how to pronounce Vietnamese. That's precisely why accuracy needs to be preserved. Húsönd 11:57, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
