Shouldn't the title be xfig? (x and f both non-capitalized). If so, the lowercase template can be added. - Liberatore(T) 21:07, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Professor Stanisic loves xfig." - does that belong into wikipedia? 91.89.64.85 11:19, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, just remove it! ----Johnm4 09:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can xfig really import SVG? My version cannot and SVG is not mentioned in http://epb.lbl.gov/xfig/frm_main_menus.html. Am I just stupid? 193.166.223.5 (talk) 14:51, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK Xfig can only export to SVG, not import. guillom 10:07, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, no import of SVG, only export. See the additional section "Imports" I just added Bvsmith 00:48, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's an error in the use of term "import" in this article: XFig does not /import/ eps, etc. its can /include/ pictures in such formats. For instance, it is not possible to get the vector objects out of the .eps an save them in .fig format, .eps are simply /included/ as bitmaps... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.164.255.87 (talk) 12:51, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It might be nice if anyone could add something about maintainance: Who, if anyone, is maintaining XFig. I have a particular interest since I use it a lot, and therefore think it would be nice to spread the word. Jpgcwiki (talk) 20:20, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if xfig is still maintained, given that the last stable release is from 2009. Am I wrong? Could the article give a hint about it? Furthermore, what is the popularity of this software? Given that I believe it is popular and its licence is GPL, I'd suppose there would be active developers. Where am I wrong in my reasoning? To me it is unclear if the status of development of xfig is really active ; there are only a few bugs corrections in the 2008-2009 area and nothing after that... 93.2.131.148 (talk) 22:58, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Does it really run on MS Windows and Mac?

[edit]

If this is built for Xlib, how is it going to run on Windows and Mac OS? Where are there any Windows or Mac executables? Please explain in the article.CountMacula (talk) 19:44, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MicahDCochran: added it in Special:Diff/411738450. I use Xfig in Cygwin, but I would reduce the OS just to Linux.  — Johannes Kalliauer - contrib. 20:27, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the diff. I'm thinking the same, but that perhaps Cygwin should be mentioned. Maybe the Windows port that costs should be described briefly in the article. And Mac is mentioned in relation to mouse buttons. That seems odd, as it's not clear that there is a Mac version.CountMacula (talk) 01:06, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
