Information on males
[edit]This article says that this condition affects both males and females. But it doesn’t talk about how it affects males. CycoMa (talk) 18:44, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Good one! Appearantly it was talking about Perrault syndrome, not "XX gonadal dysgenesis". Artoria2e5 🌉 11:47, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

- Hello, I'm a medical student enrolled in a WikiEdu course. I'd like to update and edit this article with the suggested plan below. I'd appreciate any feedback! Thank you.
- Editing grammar and finding areas of improvement:
- Flesh out a presentation/signs and symproms box that discusses age of onset, symptoms such as delayed/absenty puberty, primary or secondary amenorrhea in the setting of normal internal and external genitalia development, some association with other syndromes (e.g., Perrault syndrome). [goal 11/25]
- Pathogenesis section: see if there are any new gene associations, but it seems like the current ones are from primary sources (unsure if that's something I should ir canchange). Will try to look into the paragraphs that require a citation as is. [goal 11/25]
- Diagnosis: Needs citations.[goal 11/25]
- Treatment: Needs citation. Could use some grammar editing. [goal 12/2]
- Prognosis: Needs starting. [goal 12/2]
- Epidemiology: Needs starting. [goal 12/2]
- History: It's about Perrault syndrome rather than XX gonadal dysgenesis. Will try to see if there's anything more specific to pure gonadal dysgenesis. [goal 12/2]
- See also section could include many other forms of chromosomal anomalies or DSDs [goal 12/9]
- Fill out Disease info box [goal 12/9]
- Link to this page from other articles (e.g. Turner syndrome, DSDs) [goal 12/9]
- Find image of streak gonad that is works with wikipedia copyright rules [goal 12/9]
- Finalize edits of any jargon, grammar issues, clarity [goal 12/9]

- Good Afternoon! I have been assigned to peer review your article and I am providing feedback below:
- Overall, you have done such a great job with this article! I like how you focused a lot on making sure there were good secondary source citations throughout the article because I think that is important for a reader when they are looking for more information. I also liked the sections you are working on fleshing out, especially the related conditions and how you compared/contrasted that to XX Gonadal dysgenesis. I think that is incredibly useful for readers because a lot of these chromosomal conditions can get a bit confusing. There wasn't anything that particularly stood out to me as a red flag my main areas for improvement are just suggestions for further fleshing things out that I will include below.
- Presentation Section: I feel like streak ovaries are mentioned throughout the article, so I agree adding in a picture would be super useful. I also don't think it would hurt to briefly define what a streak ovary means the first time this is mentioned in the article or even within the signs and symptoms. You also mention related malformation syndromes a couple times in the article and it could be helpful to give examples. Under the related conditions I think you could also further define some of those other related syndromes you listed like you had for the first two paragraphs.
- Pathogenesis: I really enjoyed how this was set-up with regards to briefly defining the various genes with the goal of keeping it as updated as possible. My only question is that Perrault Syndrome is mentioned throughout the article, and it was confusing to me whether this is a form of XX Gonadal dysgenesis but with hearing loss or if this was completely separate?
- I think the Prognosis and History section could also be further expanded on, but it seems like there may just be a lack of information currently so I think what you have now is great! Keep up the good work :) Aasj2215 (talk) 20:35, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your specific and thorough edits! It's given me a lot of direction for further improevment. Great point especially on Perrault Syndrome (includes xx gonadal dysgenesis and hearing loss). The article had a large focus on it before, but I agree that such an emphasis can be confusing. I'll try to organize that a bit better. I'm going to keep working on the prognosis and history! Thank you again. Digitiminimi99 (talk) 23:27, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
