XO (salutation term)

[edit]

what about "xo" as an affective term? Jadecricket (talk) 21:55, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

XO Communications

[edit]

XO is a major telecommunications comapny which owns an internet backbone. This article should be about that and not some stupid singer. --VTEX 14:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article was a serious disambiguation page; not an article for a singer or for an OTC corp. I'm reverting it back to the original page, and cleaning up what I can for now. You did an excellent job in creating a stub for XO Holdings, but I do not agree that it's sole use of the two letter acronym, or the most common. Kuru talk 00:08, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, this is better. I wasn't aware of other uses for XO and I didn't think that a small-time singer deserved it's own disambiguation page. --VTEX 06:27, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Xoan

[edit]

An anonymous user has repeatedly added the statement "Xo is well known for being short for Xoán, which is where the expression XoXo comes from (meaning hugs and kisses) as Xoán is Galician for seducer of women," often while deleting one or more valid article links. I've asked for references or sources many times, as the claims seems like vanity nonsense (Xoan is Galacian for John [1][2]). I'm patiently adding the request here as the user seems to be ignoring edit summary requests and his user talk page. Kuru talk 14:42, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that this page should probably be protected since that same user changes the page oftentimes more than once a day. -Yupik 23:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to mention that said user also changes other pages (so please check the history for the IP address currently being used) so that they say that Portuguese things are actually Galician. -Yupik 23:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

xbox

[edit]

Isn't xbox 360 also XO or X0? --Schredas (talk) 16:46, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Including Geometry Dash features

[edit]

Recent edits [3] want to add a level of the Geometry Dash game. This is a disambiguation page, it doesn't have an article of its own, and the article it's linked to does not provide even a mention. It doesn't make sense here. signed, Willondon (talk) 23:17, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was linking Geometry Dash if you wanted to learn more. I added another website to back up my evidence. BidGic (talk) 00:16, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's why it's not appropriate for a disambiguation page. The article is for directing readers who have searched on a term, where that term might refer to different things. It's for directing readers to a Wikipedia article they were looking for. If there's no Wikipedia article, there's no point in listing an item here. signed, Willondon (talk) 00:24, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How do you make an article then and i will make a article for it BidGic (talk) 00:26, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The best place to start is Help:Your first article. It's more involved than you might think, but that's the best place to start. signed, Willondon (talk) 00:29, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have fixed the mistake BidGic (talk) 00:57, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you keep on deleting the geometry dash level xo there is a web page there now. BidGic (talk) 15:34, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The page at Draft:XO (Geometry Dash) is a draft article. Before it can be used as a reference, or before its notability is asserted, it needs to be submitted as a draft and accepted. As for why I keep deleting the addition, its based on the guidelines and policies built up here over the years, and what a disambiguation page is for. If there is no article in mainspace to direct the reader to, there is absolutely no point in having it in the list. The disambiguation page isn't the page for adding everything that shares the topic name; just the ones that point to an actual article in Wikipedia (not a draft). It can be disappointing when there are so many "rules" opposing the edits you want to make, but that's what it means sometimes to be part of a community that co-operates in building something. You may just have to accept that this isn't going to go your way. signed, Willondon (talk) 16:27, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i have a thank on my edits so i think the community likes the added featurs BidGic (talk) 16:51, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If only there were a way to find out which editors thanked you. To see if there was more than one, when they created their accounts, and what other contributions they've made to the project. That way we could see if the thanks really represent a sentiment in the community, or if it was just a lone sockpuppet. If only there was a way to identify these supporters. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:29, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
