The New York Times obit gives Lipman's age at death as 67, which would make her birth year 1931 or 1932, but this is evidently an error. The well-sourced profile by Stephanie Sims, which relies on interviews and documents from family members, states her birth year as 1923, which fits with other life events (for instance, she was awarded her Ph.D. in 1952 -- at about age 29, not 20). The birth year is corroborated by a document on Ancestry.com from "New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957": a passenger list for the Queen Mary (from Southampton, England) lists her arriving in New York with her husband on 24 Jun 1952 and gives her age as 28, making her birth year either 1923 or 1924. --Offenbach (talk) 02:50, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
