Inversion symmetry

[edit]

Why is there a citation needed flag for the fact that inversion symmetry makes pyro- and piezoelectricity impossible? Anyone can check this by looking at what happens to the charge distribution in an object when the inversion operation is applied... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.78.111.41 (talk) 14:53, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rotating diagram

[edit]

The rotating diagram does not add any additional insight. At least, it spins too fast. I know how the Wurtzite structure is made, but looking into that diagram I only got motion sickness. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.1.40.71 (talk) 20:40, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unit cell choice

[edit]

The unit cell choice used here is not consistent with that described by the International tables of crystallography. More specific, the unit cells here have the correct translational symmetries but do not follow the mirror, the glide or the screw symmetry operators of the space group. I added the space group unit cell for comparison. I think that should be stated. I am not a crystallographer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Catvector (talkcontribs) 13:07, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
