Meeting Nancy Pelosi
[edit]Wu Yi met with Nancy Pelosi in May 2007 in Washington D.C. Some news media reported it's a meeting/exchange between a Tiger lady (Wu was born in 1938, the Year of Tiger) with a Dragon lady (Pelosi was born in 1940, the Year of Dragon). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.182.171 (talk • contribs) 2007-05-29 03:17:13

Pictures
[edit]there is 1 grave problem with wu yi pictures used in this article. The problem is this: wu yi's head in the most top picture shows an american flag in the background. this is very offensive to native chinese for obvious reasons. apologies for my poor english and any mistakes in my wikipedias i am not a native english speaker: i am posting from china in secret: this is very important to me and many others here who have seen this. thank you wikipedia and keep up the good work!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.122.253.212 (talk • contribs) 2007-10-04 19:39:44
sincerely, concerned chinese
- Dear "Concerned Chinese", My suggestion to you is that you can improve this picture by taking a picture of Madam Wu youself and share with us on wikipedia. Yours, TheAsianGURU (talk) 23:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- since the head shot isn't a publicity photo but a cropped image of another that already appears in the article, why not just take it off the page. The original image effectively shows her likeness in an appropriate context.Chevrox (talk) 04:20, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I still ensist that the picture would be replaced. Surely it cannot be so that there is no other picture found of Wu Yi.. A 2 year old European kid would know who Wu Yi was.. (hehe..). And I reason this, because Wu Yi was a Vice Premier of the PRC, and by that, shouldn't be affiliated with a U.S. Flag in the background, even if the lower picture clarifies the PRC Flag being present as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.156.255.236 (talk) 20:30, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Leaving the Politburo
[edit]I've taken out the one sentence at the end of the article that stated that Wu Yi left the Politburo in October 2007[1]. The reason is that the article doesn't even discuss her being appointed to the Politburo, so it was completely out of context to just have one sentence at the end mentioning that she left the Politburo. But if someone has sources about her being appointed, please expand the article with the information. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 16:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Too bad you also didn't take out the thingie about Wu's non-hair-dyeing habits. It only operates to insinuates that every other top ChiCom does. Fair enough, but then stop all the nonsense about "NPOV" or establish a Wiki template with norms for the sort of personal information folks can include about celebrities. Or go POV and categorically add that she's in menopause too. --115.57.238.99 (talk) 14:16, 11 September 2010 (UTC)--115.57.238.99 (talk) 14:16, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Wu Yi tea (and associated diet?)
[edit]There appears to be a Wu Yi tea with an associated diet (http://www.wu-yisource.com/). Does this require a disambiguation? --Irrevenant [ talk ] 21:47, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Possible neutrality issues
[edit]This page reads like it was written by the Chinese government.
- "one of the toughest negotiators in the Chinese government"
- "Surprisingly, an official beside Wu Yi replied, "Who cares about you people!" to the Taiwanese reporter."
- "Wu is regarded as a firm and direct woman who, unlike her colleagues, has not dyed her graying hair black"
- "brought significant woe to the reputation of Chinese products"
Qscgy256 (talk) 22:35, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know that the Chinese government will write something like "who cares about you people", at least I don't see how this puts Wu in a positive light. Anyway I removed that passage, and I also tried to tone down the other ones. I will remove the tag accordingly, but do let me know if you see any other issues. Colipon+(Talk) 18:50, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
