Creation
[edit]I created very basic pages for WGAE and WGAw. Completing the history will take some research, and since these were my first new pages it took me hours just to figure out how to do the formatting, links, etc. I hope that others will assist in filling in additional information about the two guilds, using verifiable sources. The original page "WGA" had a lot of NPOV problems. I hope we can avoid that going forward. Syndicalista 21:37, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
2007 Strike
[edit]I created a separate section for the 2007 Strike. After it's settled, this should probably be demoted back into the history section. DirectRevelation 06:54, 3 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
- Removed current event flag as there is now a separate article on the strike.DirectRevelation 15:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
History
[edit]The history section has some problems with it's links to other Wikipedia articles. The ones to the Dramatist and Authors Guilds were just a matter of not using the apostrophe so I fixed those two. However, the links to the Authors' Leauge of America, Screen Writers' Guild, and Radio Writers Guild all point to artcles that I don't think exist. I think we should remove the link from those historic organizations so they would be in the article just like the Radio Writers Guild but without the link.
BUT, if someone feels ambitious and wants to create articles on those organizations, I would be happy to wait while you did that. Let me know. DirectRevelation 04:10, 4 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
- Put in 1951 as the founding date. Unlike the WGAw which had a clear predecessor, the WGAE was created from such a mish mash of organizations I think '51 is the clear start date. DirectRevelation 23:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
- Removed dead links. If someone writes articles on those 3 hisoric organizations, we can add the links back in.DirectRevelation 23:54, 14 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
External Links
[edit]The 101 greatest screenplays of all time was a strictly WGAw activity, it was not done in concert with the WGAE like the WGA awards. As such, I think it should staty on the WGAw article (it's there) but removed from this one. Anyone have different views?DirectRevelation 13:18, 11 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
- Hearing no objections, removed link. It is still in the WGAw article. DirectRevelation (talk) 20:15, 28 November 2007 (UTC)DirectRevelation
